Royals Hall of Fame
Soce Faye is the fifth men’s basketball player to be inducted into the Queens Athletics Hall of Fame individually. The Dakar, Senegal native played two seasons for the Royals compiling 904 points and 576 rebounds. In his senior season, Faye averaged a double-double with 18.3 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. He also helped lead the Royals to their first conference regular season championship during the 1997-98 season. Queens also won the CVAC Tournament that year with Faye earning Tournament MVP honors before advancing to the NCAA Championships for the second time in program history. They went on to finish with a 24-6 record.
Faye’s individual awards in his senior season included him being named CVAC Male Athlete of the Year. He was also named to the NABC/Chevrolet-Chevy Trucks All-America and CVAC All-Conference First Teams. In addition, Faye led the CVAC in rebounding and was named CVAC Player of the Week while also being recognized on the Marriott and Red Roof Inn All-Tournament Teams. He went on to have a long professional basketball career in Europe.
Faye ranks first in career rebounding average (9.9) at Queens and second in single season rebounds (335) and rebounding average (11.2).
Currently, Faye works in the water industry exporting equipment from Europe to Africa. He resides in France with his wife, Cara Jones Faye (99’), and their three children, Tidiane, Adia and Khady.
