Royals Hall of Fame
Carlos Andrade is the sixth men’s basketball player to be inducted into the Queens Athletics Hall of Fame individually. The Lisbon, Portugal native played four seasons for the Royals accumulating 1,603 points, 761 rebounds, 293 assists, and 204 steals. During his time with the Royals, Queens won two CVAC Regular Season Championships and made two NCAA Elite 8 appearances. The Elite 8 appearance in 2001 was the first in program history while the Royals made their first-ever national semifinal appearance in 2003. At the time, the 29-4 overall record posted made the 2002-03 season the winningest in program history.
Individually, Andrade was a three-time CVAC All-Conference Team honoree earning first team honors in 2002 and second team honors in 2001 and 2003. He was also named to the CVAC All-Tournament Team in 2002 and was a preseason all-American and East Region All-Tournament Team honoree in 2003.
Andrade also made his mark in the Queens record books as he currently sits third all-time in points, fourth in rebounds, and second in steals. His point total was a program record until 2011.
Following his career at Queens, Andrade had a very successful professional career playing in Spain, Germany, and Portugal up until his retirement in 2018. He then spent a season as the general manager of Sport Lisboa Benfica in Portugal before becoming a basketball agent in 2019. He has since started his own agency, Unlimited Management RC. Additionally, He and his sister, Mery Andrade who also played professionally, run Andrade Basketball Camp and Andrade Evolution during the summer in Europe, Portugal, Italy, and Spain.
Andrade currently resides in Ericeira, just outside of Lisbon, Portugal. He and his life mate, Telma, have a daughter named Emma and a dog named Link. Andrade also has two additional children, Nickolas and Anna Luisa.
