Class of 1993
Men's Basketball 1989-1993

Marcus Stubblefield was among the first men’s basketball players to ever be recruited by Queens University of Charlotte.  Upon graduation in 1993, Stubblefield had seen success on the court as a senior as he led the team in scoring with 12.7 points per game and in assists with 4.7 assists per game. Stubblefield’s success went far beyond the court, however, as he was more known for his hands on work in the community.

After graduating he became heavily involved in helping teens that may have been gang affiliated or teens that had been affected by gangs throughout their lives.  Stubblefield was as hands on as they got as he truly provided one on one care by going to the neighborhoods of the children to provide aid.  Stubblefield now resides in Seattle where he attends all the graduations of the children with whom he has had contact. He has built up such a relationship within the community that the police often consult him for advice on how to handle gang related activities, especially those that relate to children.  Stubblefield, who had his basketball jersey retired at his high school, now spends his time volunteering as a basketball coach at the Southwest Community Center.  After spending time helping youth through basketball, through mentorship in rough situations, and through youth centers, Stubblefield was  recognized for his efforts in 2009 with a Volunteer Recognition Award in his hometown of Seattle.

He and his wife  Danielle have a son Chance (17), daughter Sarai (2), another daughter on the way in November (Ciel) and has also been raising his nephew Shaquille (18).
