ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the second time this season, Queens University of Charlotte baseball player Nick Brassington has been awarded South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week honors for his performance during the final week of the regular season, as announced by the league on Tuesday morning. Brassington led the Royals to a 4-1 week, including an 18-5 victory over No. 22 Lenoir-Rhyne before sweeping UVA Wise over the weekend to clinch the No. 3 seed in the upcoming South Atlantic Conference tournament.
 
On the week, the senior posted a .375 batting average recording nine hits, including five extra base hits with three home runs. The Raleigh, N.C. native is tied for the league lead in home runs this season with 16 and has successfully reached base in 19 straight games while currently holding an eight-game hitting streak.
 
Brassington hoists a .379 batting average which is top ten in the conference while also driving in 57 runs which is third most in the league play. The outfielder has 30 extra base hits on the season which leads the league.
 
The Royals historic season will continue this weekend when they make their first postseason appearance in program history. Queens will square off in the conference tournament with No. 20/22 Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. Fans can access tickets to the game, and all of the conference tournament games through the official championship website.
