No. 16 Queens Set to Host SAC Quarterfinal Versus Tusculum

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  –  The third-seeded Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team will host a quarterfinal round game of the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship against sixth-seeded Tusculum University on Tuesday, April 23 at Dickson Field.
 
The Royals completed the regular season with a 6-2 record after falling 11-9 to No. 13 Wingate on Saturday, April 20. The loss left Queens tied for second place in the league with No. 20 Catawba who was seeded second because of their win over the Royals on April 13.
 
Tusculum finished sixth with a 3-5 record after closing the regular season with an 11-10 double overtime win over Catawba. AJ Hems scored the game winner with 3:49 on the clock to help secure his team's spot in the Championship.
 
This season, Keegan Bell leads the Pioneers with 58 points on 43 goals and 15 assists. Liam Macdonald has 55 points on 19 goals and 36 assists. In goal, Ross Gelger is 7-6 on the year with a .483 save percentage.  
 
The Royals are led by Kealan Pilon who has 51 points this season on 30 goals and 21 assists. Quinn Tallant follows with 39 points on 33 goals and six assists and Laszlo Henning has 26 points on 15 goals and 11 assists. In goal, Kyle Hornik is 9-2 with a .581 save percentage while Anthony Valenza is 2-1 with a .506 save percentage.
 
Queens defeated the Pioneers 16-8 on the road during the regular season. Pilon and Tallant each recorded hat tricks to lead the Royals offensively while David Byrne also had three points on two goals and one assist. Jesse Oliver and Eric Fitz completed the game with two goals each.
 
Tusculum was led by Nate Raymond who had three goals while Liam Macdonald added two goals and one assist. Geiger took the loss in goal after recording 16 saves.
