Queens Battles No. 19/20 Utah on the Road

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah- The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team traveled to face No. 19/20 Utah this afternoon, falling 18-0 to the Utes.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

The Utes were able to build a 10-0 lead in the first half of today's game, holding the Royals to just two shots on goal. They then put six more points on the scoreboard in the third quarter, while the Royals weren't able to put a shot on frame.
 
Queens' offense found more success in the fourth quarter, as the Royals put four shots on goal. Unfortunately, they were unable to find the back of the cage before the final horn sounded.
 
KEY STATS & NOTES 
  • Ben Weir led Queens with three shots on goal, while Cater Petersen totaled two.
  • Defensively, Michael White totaled five ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Cole Purcell had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
  • In goal, Noah McGovern recorded 16 saves.
  • Utah used its offensive power to outshoot Queens 52-16 this afternoon, placing 34 shots on goal to the Royals' six.
  • The Royals had a hard time transitioning the ball up the field against the Utah defense, recording 23 turnovers and clearing the ball 11-of-21 times.
  • Queens totaled 21 ground balls to Utah's 45 and won seven of the 22 face offs.
  • Luke McNamara led Utah with six goals.
 
UP NEXT

Queens will close the 2026 season hosting Bellarmine on April 25. The Royals will also celebrate Senior Day in the final game of the season.
