Royals Celebrate Seniors in Season Finale with Bellarmine

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team celebrated its seniors in their final game of the 2026 season this afternoon. The Royals hosted Bellarmine, falling 16-12 to the Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 3-1 in the first quarter, Queens scored back-to-back goals in the final five minutes of the first quarter to knot the game, 3-3, as the period closed. 
 
A pair of goals from the Royals within the opening minute of the second quarter then put Queens in front 5-3. However, the Knights responded with four unanswered goals to regain control of the game. Ryan McDaniel scored another two to close the half and bring Queens within one, 8-7, heading into the halftime break.
 
Bellarmine had all the momentum in the third, outscoring the Royals 5-2 to build a 13-9 lead heading into the final 15 minute of regulation.
 
Queens, looking to make a push for the win in the fourth, was only able to trade goals with the Knights in the final period as Bellarmine held on to their lead built in the third to take the ASUN victory.
 
KEY STATS & NOTES 
  • Ryan McDaniel scored a career-high five goals and tallied two assists, giving the junior a career-high seven points in the game.
  • Carson Petersen added two goals. Bick Gunnar added one goal and eight ground balls.
  • Defensively, Michael White tallied three caused turnovers and two ground balls, while Tanner Bachelor recorded four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
  • Grant Isika turned in the best performance at the face in his career, winning 20-30. He also matched his career high in ground balls, snagging 11 today.
  • In goal, Noah McGovern tallied nine saves.
  • Joe Alie recorded seven goals and one assist for Bellarmine, while John Alie tallied three goals and four assists.
  • Nolan Hudnut of Bellarmine took today's win in goal after recording 11 saves.
  • Queens outshot the Knights, 53-32, but the Royals were only able to place 23 of those shots on goal.
  • The Royals dominated the battle for ground balls, 47-27, and won the battle in the circle, 20-11.
