Royals Return Home to Host Lincoln Memorial

 - The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team welcomes Lincoln Memorial University to the Levine Center on Saturday, January 13 for a South Atlantic Conference tilt. 

Opening tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Live coverage of the event will be provided by Queens Athletics and the Queens Sports Network with Phil Constantino. Saturday signals the Royals' annual Blue-Out Game presented by Coca-Cola. Fans are encouraged to wear blue, and the first 200 students in attendance will receive a free Queens Athletics t-shirt.

Last season, Queens fell three times to the Railsplitters, including a loss in the SAC Tournament. LMU leads the overall series 12-3 with all of the Royals' victories coming in Charlotte.

-Queens most recently fell to Newberry College, 61-50 on the road. In the Royals latest victory, the team defeated Mars Hill 65-62 for its first SAC win of the year.

-In the Royals victory versus Mars Hill, junior transfer Lade Adepoju registered career-highs of 27 points and 16 rebounds while making 9-of-16 shots from the floor and 9-of-11 attempts from the free throw line.

-Queens head coach Sarah Jansen collected her 50th career win with the triumph over the Lions.

-The Royals defense has forced 69 turnovers across the last three games, including 20 or more against Limestone and Mars Hill.

The Royals are led by Lade Adepoju who averages 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest, both marks good enough to rank among the league's Top 5.

-Freshman Kristian Eanes is second on the team with 11 points per game and shoots 50% from the floor, followed by senior Mendy McNeese who chips in 10.2 points per game.

Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters (9-5, 5-3 SAC)

-Lincoln Memorial is 7-3 across its last 10 games and currently ride a four-game winning streak. The Railspliiters most recently picked up 75-59 home win over Coker College.

-The Railsplitters place third among league schools in points per game (72.7) and rebounds per game (43.2). LMU does have trouble taking care of the ball as the team commits more than 20 turnovers per contest.

-Lincoln Memorial is led by Shea Coker who averages 14.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. She also leads the SAC in three-point percentage (50%).

-Twins Emily and Rachel Griffith add scoring for LMU with 10.6 and 9.4 points per game, respectively.
