CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball has added another dynamic piece to its backcourt with the signing of Ahmani Klabunde, a 5-foot-7 guard from Omaha, Nebraska.

"Ahmani brings a dynamic edge to our backcourt. She gives us much-needed help handling the ball, and her ability to create for herself and others makes everyone around her better," said head coach Jen Brown. "She's a true three-level scoring threat who can impact the game in multiple ways. We love the competitive chip she plays with. We're excited to see her make an immediate impact in our program."

"I chose Queens because I want to compete at a high level and continue to improve on and off the court," said Klabunde. "I like what the coaches are looking for and their energy, and I'm excited to be part of a program that will challenge me."

Klabunde joins the Royals after two seasons at the junior college level. She began her collegiate career at Chipola College, where she made an early impact as a freshman, contributing in a variety of roles and delivering multiple double-digit scoring performances. 

Her best outing came with a 17-point performance against Tallahassee State College, highlighting her ability to step up offensively while also showing efficiency at the free-throw line and versatility on the perimeter.

She took a major leap in her sophomore season at Labette Community College, emerging as one of the team's primary offensive options. Averaging 15.9 points per game, she was selected First Team All-Conference and named the 2025-26 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Newcomer of the Year. Klabunde consistently produced at a high level, showcasing her scoring ability with a season highlighted by a 33-point performance against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. 

She followed that effort with several strong outings, including 24 points against Eastern Oklahoma State and multiple 20-plus point performances throughout the year. 

Klabunde attended Omaha Benson High School and played for the Omaha-based Unity Stars club prior to beginning her collegiate career.
