Brown Lifts Queens Past Catawba in OT

Box Score SALISBURY, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team picked up its second South Atlantic Conference win tonight defeating Catawba College (4-6, 2-4) 2-1 in overtime. The Royals' record improves to 4-6 on the year and 2-4 in the league.

Catawba's Philipp Hollenhorst was able to put the Indians on the board first after a foul in the box awarded the home team a penalty kick. Hollenhorst snuck the ball just past Queens goalkeeper, Ben Wallace, for the 1-0 lead in the 38th. However, Queens' Isaac Walker would come through in the 44th minute to tie things up with a shot from about 20 yards out.

Neither team found the back of the net in the second half which saw just three shots, all coming from Catawba.

In overtime, the golden goal would come from junior Corey Brown in the 95th minute. Brown currently has five goals on the season, and this is his second game-winner of the year. He currently ranks first in the league in assists, and second in goals and points.

Wallace picked up the win in goal, while Kennedy Little of Catawba took the loss after totaling two saves.

The Royals are back in action at home on Saturday when they welcome Mars Hill University to Dickson Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
