Royals Aim to Regain Momentum in ASUN Clash with Hatters

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Qu Queens continues ASUN play on Thursday night with a 7 p.m. matchup against Stetson inside Curry Arena, marking the third contest of a four-game homestand. The Royals enter the week at 7–8 overall and 1–3 in conference play, posting a 4–3 record at home this season.

THE MATCHUPS
Queens and Stetson have met five times since the Royals joined Division I, with the Hatters controlling the series 3-2. Queens earned its most recent victory in the series last season, a 75–64 win in Charlotte, snapping a two-game skid against the Hatters.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS (7–8 overall, 1-3 ASUN)
  • Queens builds its identity inside, the Royals average 38.5 rebounds per game, with Brenae Jones-Grant and Hannah Hicks combining for 15.5 boards per contest, helping Queens stay competitive on the glass.
  • Brenae Jones-Grant remains the focal point offensively and defensively, on of the ASUN's in both field goal percentage (.562) and rebounding (8.0 RPG). She averages 12.9 points per game, and anchors Queens at the rim on both ends of the floor.
  • Perimeter production is paced by Ana Barreto, who leads the team in minutes and three-pointers made (37). Barreto is scoring 11.3 points per game, shooting 34.3 percent from three, and ranks second on the roster in assists.
  • Jermany Mapp provides experience and balance in the backcourt, averaging 9.9 points per game while shooting 87.9 percent at the free-throw line. Mapp has surpassed 900 career points, continuing to climb the program's Division I scoring list and serving as a reliable late-game option.
  • Dayuna Colvin directs the offense, leading Queens with 45 assists while adding 8.2 points per game. Her ability to create off the dribble and get to the foul line has been key to Queens half-court execution.
  • Defensively, Queens relies on activity and rim protection, averaging 7.1 steals and 3.4 blocks per game. Hannah Hicks leads the team in blocked shots, with Jones-Grant and Breah Franks adding length and disruption in the paint.
  • As a team, the Royals average 60.4 points per game, connecting on 7.0 three-pointers per contest and converting nearly 11 free throws per game, with several games this season decided by execution at the line.
SCOUTING THE HATTERS (9-4 overall, 2-2 ASUN)
  • Stetson enters at 9–6 overall and 2–2 in ASUN play, with wins over North Alabama and Austin Peay and conference losses to Central Arkansas and Lipscomb.
  • The Hatters average 69.6 points per game while holding opponents to 63.6, owning a +6.0 scoring margin. They shoot 41.8 percent from the field and 34.0 percent from three, knocking down 8.7 threes per game, one of the higher marks in the league.
  • Cameron Thomas leads the offense at 18.3 points per game, shooting 46.9 percent overall and 41.3 percent from three on high volume. She has scored in double figures in thirteen of fifteen games.
  • Mary McMillan is the primary facilitator, averaging 11.6 points and 4.4 assists, while ranking among the ASUN leaders in total assists and minutes played.
  • Aleah Sorrentino anchors the interior, averaging 9.2 points and a team-best 8.1 rebounds, including strong work on the offensive glass.
  • Promise Keshi adds balance with 7.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 22 blocks, giving Stetson rim protection and physicality inside.
  • Stetson averages 14.6 assists per game and plays with pace, but turnovers can be a factor, committing 14.3 per contest.
  • Defensively, the Hatters generate 6.9 steals and 2.9 blocks per game, with opponents shooting 37.4 percent from the field and 28.4 percent from three.
