CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team is scheduled to begin the 2025 season on Saturday, Feb. 8 against East Carolina University at Dickson Field.
ABOUT QUEENS
- Queens is led by third-year head coach Kelly McQuilkin.
- The Royals are coming off another winning season where they were edged out of postseason play after tying for fourth place in the league at the close of the regular season.
- Kayleen Favreau led the Royals a season ago with 80 points on 59 goals and 21 assists. Elise Grissett was the third leading scorer with 51 points on 26 goals and 25 assists. Jordan Tandler returns after totaling 18 goals prior to getting injured.
- The Royals were voted to finish fourth in the ASUN Preseason Poll. Additionally, junior attacker Kayleen Favreau was named Preseason Player of the Year after being named 2024 Player of the Year. Junior midfielder Elise Grissett was also named to the Preseason All-ASUN Team.
ABOUT ECU
- The Pirates are led by second-year head coach Brittany Dipper.
- ECU was voted to finish fourth in the American Athletic Conference. Erin Gulden, Caroline Meininger, and Emily Stratton were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Gulden helped lead the Pirates offense a season ago, tallying 31 goals and 14 assists for 45 points.
THE MATCHUP
Queens is 0-2 in their series with the Pirates after falling 11-9 to ECU in 2023 and 15-12 to the ECU in 2024.
Kayleen Favreau and
Jordan Tandler each scored twice in the opening season loss last year.
