Queens Faces Liberty in Game Honoring Morgan’s Message

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team traveled to face Coastal Carolina (10-5, 3-3) this afternoon, falling 15-4 to the Chanticleers. The Royals' record now sits at 3-10 on the year and 3-3 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-0, Queens' Lexy Stevenson got the Royals on the scoreboard with a goal at 6:24 in the first period. The goal was the only for the Royals in the quarter as they trailed 4-1 heading into the second.

Liberty extended their lead to six, 7-1, before Kourtney Goff found the back of the net to score a goal for the Royals while they were a man down. At the half, the Flames led 8-3.

Out of the break, the two teams traded goals to give the game a 10-5 score at the start of the final 15 minutes of regulation. An early goal from Stevenson cut the margin to four, 10-6, but a 6-0 run by the Flames followed. With the clock running due to the 10-goal gap, Queens' Erin Bock scored two in a row to cut the lead to eight, 16-8. Favreau then scored the Royals' final goal of the day, slashing through traffic on a fastbreak.
