Queens Welcomes FGCU and Stetson for ASUN Tilt

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens (15–8, 6–4 ASUN) returns home to the Levine Center hosting FGCU on Friday and Stetson on Sunday. The Royals are riding a three-match win streak after taking down North Alabama, West Georgia, and Austin Peay, and look to continue their momentum against two strong Florida programs as the ASUN Tournament approaches.

Queens closed its Kentucky road trip with a 3–1 win at Austin Peay, highlighted by a 17-kill performance by Ellis Sargent. The Royals hit .233 with 10 total blocks in the win; their sixth sweep or four-set victory of the conference season. Mia McMillen added 17 digs while setters Tyler Peluso and Megan Kelly combined for 31 assists to guide a balanced attack.

  • Queens averages 13.4 kills/set on .214 hitting, holding opponents to .196.
  • Layson (2.46 k/s), Norris (.295, 2.31 k/s), and Sargent (1.85 k/s) lead a balanced offense.
  • Peluso (5.48 a/s) and Kelly (4.25 a/s) continue to guide the two-setter system.
  • Collins ranks among ASUN leaders with 4.01 digs/set, pacing a defense averaging 15.9 digs/set.
  • The Royals rank top three in the ASUN in blocks (2.24/set) and have recorded six 3–0 sweeps this season.

SCOUTING FGCU (16–6, 8–2 ASUN)
The Eagles sit near the top of the ASUN standings and continue to showcase one of the most efficient offenses in the league. FGCU averages 13.5 kills/set on .264 hitting, while holding opponents to .170.

  • Erin Shomaker (3.66 k/s) and Lily Felts (3.25 k/s) headline an offense that spreads the ball effectively through setter Chelsey Lockey (10.8 a/s).
  • Defensively, Dana Axner (4.51 d/s) anchors the back row, while Juliana Lentz (.329, 0.93 blk/s) leads the front-line effort.
  • The Eagles also average 2.07 blocks/set and 1.84 aces/set, ranking among the ASUN's best in both categories.

SCOUTING STETSON (8–14, 4–6 ASUN)
The Hatters have found a late-season spark, picking up wins over Jacksonville and North Florida last week to climb within reach of .500 in league play.

  • Zuzanna Bury ranks third in the ASUN with 3.98 kills/set, while Xinlei Yang adds 2.27 k/s on .276 hitting.
  • Setter Nyah Molina averages 8.23 assists/set, and Vitoria Stedile (3.80 d/s) leads the defense.
  • Stetson averages 11.4 kills/set on .187 hitting and ranks among the ASUN's best at the net with 2.30 blocks/set.
  • The Hatters have gone to five sets in seven matches this season, including their earlier battle with Queens in DeLand.
