Royals Return Home to Face West Georgia in Midweek ASUN Matchup

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens (13–8, 4–4 ASUN) returns to the Levine Center on Wednesday evening to host the University of West Georgia in midweek conference action. The Royals look to keep their momentum rolling after a gritty five-set comeback victory over North Alabama on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT
Queens battled back for a thrilling 3–2 win over North Alabama on Sunday afternoon inside Curry Arena. After dropping the opening set, the Royals found their rhythm and outlasted the Lions in a high-energy, five-set battle. Ellis Sargent and Mia McMillen led the attack with 16 kills apiece, hitting .533 and .448 respectively. Emma Norris and Anna Grace Sparks each added 10 kills, while Elizabeth Layson chipped in seven. Defensively, Tilley Collins anchored the back row with 13 digs, and the Royals combined for seven total blocks. Queens closed the match in dominant fashion, hitting .733 in the final set to seal the win.

QUEENS NOTES

  • Queens averages 13.3 kills per set on .208 hitting while holding opponents to .201.
  • Callie DeSchryver leads the team with 201 kills (2.72/set), followed closely by Emma Norris (2.32/set) and Elizabeth Layson (2.33/set).
  • Setters Tyler Peluso (5.58 a/s) and Megan Kelly (4.32 a/s) continue to direct the offense in the Royals' two-setter system.
  • Collins remains among ASUN leaders in digs, averaging 4.01 per set.
