Royals Game Notes & Fast Facts

QUEENS ROYALS - ASUN CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND!
-  The Queens University of Charlotte softball team took control of their own fate in the ASUN standings this past weekend at home, taking down the Stetson Hatters in two games out of three at the Stick.
- On Sunday, April 28, the Royals came from behind and finished out the 4-3 victory. The win moved the Royals to a 10-11 conference mark on the year, earning them a spot in the 2024 ASUN Championships for the first time in program history.
- Autumn Courtney worked her way through 11 strikeouts in game one while The Dunn/Courtney duo held the Hatters to only two hits in the series finale, combining for eight strikeouts.
- After Courtney's performance this past week, the sophomore slinger earned her second ASUN Player of the Week honor. Courtney hurled two complete games and picked up two wins (Campbell game one, Stetson game one). Courtney also claimed her first save of the season against Stetson on Sunday.
- Her two wins this week upped her season-total to 19 in the circle.

Scouting the Opponent - JACKSONVILLE DOLPHINS
- Jacksonville faces Queens after a series win over the Lipscomb Bisons last weekend. The wins pushed them to 13-8 conference record on the season, and will be headed to the ASUN Championship starting on May 7.
- After their series win over Lipscomb, Jacksonville secured and out-of-conference doubleheader sweep of Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday.
- In the ASUN statistics, Madison Bratek sits in the top 10 in stolen bases, while sister Allison Bratek ranks in walks drawn. The sisters bat a .292 and 283, respectively — good enough to rank as the top two hitters on the Jacksonville squad.
- The pitching staff for the Dolphins ranks in sixth with a combined 3.07 ERA. Skylar Waggoner sits with the most appearances this season, but has pieced together a 6-10 record. Waggoner's 3.22 ERA sits just merely behind Shelby Harpe's 2.46.
