Records: Queens (12-33) | Charlotte (28-24)
Location: The Stick Williams Dream Fields (Charlotte, N.C.)

THE SHORT STORY
Queens battled through its home finale Tuesday evening, falling to Charlotte, 12-2, in five innings on senior night. After honoring senior Lindsay Henson prior to first pitch, the Royals responded early and continued to compete throughout the night, highlighted by strong individual efforts at the plate and in the circle.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Charlotte struck first with a leadoff home run, but Queens answered immediately in the bottom of the first. Olivia Thornton doubled into the gap, and Lindsay Henson followed with an RBI single to even the score at 1-1. Charlotte used a pair of big innings in the second and third to build separation, but Queens continued to fight. Kami Diaz and Lauren Byrd helped keep offensive pressure on with extra-base hits, and the Royals loaded the bases in the fifth before Henson brought home another run after being hit by a pitch. Queens showed resilience throughout, continuing to battle until the final out.

AT THE PLATE
Lauren Byrd led Queens with a 2-for-3 day, while Lindsay Henson drove in both Royals runs. Olivia Thornton and Kami Diaz each doubled, helping Queens collect six hits in the home finale.

IN THE CIRCLE
Addison Kluck got the start, while Kooper Barnes provided relief before Henson delivered a bright spot in the circle, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts to close out her Senior Night appearance.

BY THE NUMBERS
Queens: 2 runs, 6 hits, 0 errors
