CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queens University of Charlotte softball team will head to face their first ACC opponent of the season, NC State, in Raleigh on Tuesday, April 9 for a 4:00 PM start.

Royals Game Notes & Fast Facts
QUEENS ROYALS
- The Royals are coming off a 1-2 weekend against the reigning ASUN Champions Central Arkansas. The Royals were victorious in game three of the weekend, claiming a walk-off 4-3 victory from an RBI single off Kasidi Staley's bat.
- As of April 8, the Royals sit in a three-way tie for eighth place at a 3-9 ASUN record along with Austin Peay and Stetson - both of which Queens has not yet played this season.
- NC State will be the first ACC opponent that the Royals face this season. Interestingly enough, - The Atlantic Sun this season is a combined 6-9 against the ACC. That includes two wins over nationally ranked and reigning national runner-up Florida State, two wins over Boston College, and a win each over North Carolina and Pittsburgh.
Scouting the Opponent - NC STATE WOLFPACK
- The Wolfpack lost two out of three in their weekend series in Raleigh against ACC foe, No. 13 ranked Virginia Tech. North Carolina State won the first game on Friday, 5-4, but lost the last two games, 14-1 and 12-0, both in five inning mercy rule finishes. NC State is now 2-12 in ACC play, which has them last in the conference standings. They also finished last in the league in 2023.
- Outside of Atlantic Coast Conference play, NC State is 18-6 this season. The Wolfpack and Royals have one mutual opponent this year, the North Dakota State Bison. The Royals knocked off the team from Fargo 3-0 in the UNC Wilmington Tournament on February 10. North Carolina State outscored the Bison 6-4 to open their season on February 16 in their Marucci Classic in Raleigh.
- NC State is last in the ACC in fielding percentage (.951) and is outside the top 250 in Division I. Their 48 errors are also last in the conference and in the bottom 30 in the country.
- The Wolfpack are under the helm of first-year head coach Lindsay Leftwich. Leftwich spent the last twelve seasons in the SEC as an assistant coach at LSU. During her dozen years in Baton Rouge, she helped lead the Tigers to four College World Series appearances, seven Super Regionals, and ten NCAA Regionals.
