CHARLOTTESVILLE, V.A.--- The Queens University of Charlotte track and field team made some strides this weekend as distance runners
Zak Freeland, Moritz Klessiek, and
Nicholas Potter competed at the 2024 Virginia Challenge.
NOTABLE FINISHES
- In the men's 1500m, Zak Freeland finished ninth with a personal time of 3:45.29. Moritz Klessiek also finished 13th in the same event with a time of 3:45.98.
- Moritz Kleesiek was the frontrunner for the Royals in the 800m as he finished 15th with a time of 1:51.54. Zak Freeland also had a personal best time of 1:52.27 in the same event.
- Nick Potter also finished the 800m with a time of 1:57.18.

"Another strong weekend for the distance crew as Moritz and Zak came back to run a 1:51 and 1:52 respectively after yet another 3:45 the night before, showing consistency. Moritz is now eighth all time in the 800 for Moritz and Zak is creeping closer to the top 10. Both runners are edging closer to the 1500 school record building up to conference championships."

Queens will be back in Charlotte, N.C. for the 2024 Charlotte Invitational, starting Friday April 26
th at Irwin Bell Track and Field Center.
