Royals Open Up the 2024 Outdoor Season with Strong Starts at the 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--- As the Queens University of Charlotte track and field team began their outdoor season at the 49er Classic Friday, they experienced a successful second day. Despite the bad weather, the Royals successfully achieved some fast times.

Notable Friday Finishes
  • Beth Cook secured a second-place finish in the 1500m with a time of 4:28.60.
  • Emilija Kusic finished in fourteenth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a fast time of 14.94. Additionally, Halle Perry clocked in with a time of 15.77.
  • Zak Freeland secured a first-place finish in the 1500m event, posting a fast time of 3:46.67, alongside his teammate, Moritz Kleesiek followed closely behind, running a time of 3:47.85.
  • Chloe Widmann Finished third in the 5000m event with a blazing time of 18:13.73.
