CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queens University of Charlotte softball team looks to face the North Carolina Central Eagles in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 2 at the Stick with first pitch slated for 1:00 PM.

QUEENS ROYALS
- The Royals are top in the ASUN in shutouts as a team (5). All five have occurred with Preseason Conference Pitcher of the Year Autumn Courtney starting in the circle.
- Courtney has four shutouts on her own this season, which is tied for best in the nation. (Despite Queens' current reclassifying status in Division I). The other two pitchers are: Kasey Ricard, Boston U. and Emiley Kennedy, Texas A&M.
- Freshman catcher Madison Cantoni is second-best in the conference in putouts this season (103). Cantoni is the only player with at least 100 putouts in the league that has a 1.000 fielding percentage.
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL EAGLES
- The Eagles come to Charlotte on a seven-game losing streak and have only scored a combined four runs over the last five games. In their most recent game, North Carolina defeated them 21-1, the 21 runs by the Tar Heels is tied for the third most by a team this season in Division 1. Central won the MEAC for the first time in 2023 and made their first trip to the NCAA Tournament where they traveled to Athens, GA for the Regionals.
- Freshman Kendall Smith is second in the MEAC in hits (16), home runs (2), and triples (2). The Fuquay-Varina, NC native is also third in the conference in total bases (26).
- Junior pitcher Jaden Davis leads the MEAC in complete games (6) and fellow junior Ashanti Eubanks is tied for second with three complete games.They're also the top two in the league in innings pitched, Edwards has pitched 43.0 innings while Davis has gone 42.2.
