Royals End Regular Season with Top 10 Finishes at JDL Last Chance

WINSTON SALEM, NC --- The Queens University of Charlotte track and field team had a strong day at the JDL Last Chance Invitational as multiple Royals finished in the top 10, including seven top-five finishes. 

Notable Saturday Finishes
•    Halle Perry got the second-place finish in the women's 60m hurdles, finishing with a time of 9.00. Emilija Kusic finished third in the same event with a time of 9.08 and Celia Spiess finished eighth with a time of 9.72.
•    Rowan Shannon finished second in the women's 800m with a time of 2:22.75. 
•    Nick Potter finished third in the men's 800m with a time of 1:57.06. Branden Ruiz also finished ninth in the same event with a time of 2:01.41. 
•    In the women's 3000m, Livia Wespe was the leading Royal as she finished fourth with a time of 10:29.56. Emma Olson-Keating got seventh in the same event with a time of 10: 41.69 and Cara MacDonald finished ninth with a time of 10:55.24.
•    Noah Boeck got tenth in the men's 3000m as finished with a time of 9:03.15. 
•    Genysis Howard finished eighth in the women's long jump with a best jump of 4.78m.
•    In the men's long jump, Michael Quigley got the second-place finish with a best jump of 6.84m. Quigley also got seventh in the men's triple jump of 13.08m.
•    In the women's shot put, Ines Safont finished fifth with a best throw of 13.60m. 
•    In the men's shot put, Enrico Busato finished seventh with a best throw of 14.24m.
•    Jalena Curbeam got second in the women's triple jump as she got a best jump of 11.36m. Kamile Bickute also got eighth place with a best jump of 10.21m. 
•    Jakob Nutzel got sixth in the men's weight throw with a best throw of 14.10m.

As we gear up for the 2nd ASUN Indoor Championships in Gainesville next week, their performance serves as a testament to our team's dedication and readiness. We're excited to see what we can achieve together at the ASUN level."

What's Next
The Royals will travel to Gainesville, FL next weekend as they will compete in their second-ever ASUN Indoor Championships. Events will start on Friday, February 23rd, and will be aired on ESPN+.
