LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team heads to Lexington, Ky. for a Monday night match against the #14 Kentucky Wildcats. The Royals are coming off 108-55 victory over Johnson & Wales on Saturday. This is the third SEC opponent the Royals have faced, with losses against #12 Ole Miss and #1 LSU to open the 2023-24 season. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. inside the Historic Memorial Coliseum.

The match up pairs head coach
Jen Brown with her former coach and mentor, Kentucky head coach Kenny Brooks. Brown, a longtime member of Brooks' staff joined the Virginia Tech Hokies in 2016, helping the Hokies to four consecutive 20-win seasons. Prior to Virginia Tech, Brown spent six seasons as an assistant for Brooks at James Madison, where Brown played from 2005-2008.

- The Royals are averaging 70.1 points per game on 42.5 percent shooting from the field, including 31.6 percent from three-point range with 6.3 made threes per game.
- Jordyn Weaver is the Royals leading scorer and rebounder, entering the contest scoring 13.3 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game, and is shooting 55.3 percent on the season.
- Ana Barreto complements Weaver, adding 10.4 points per game and shooting just under 50 percent from three at 47.4 percent.
- Anchoring the Royals offense is senior guard Aylesha Wade, who set a season-high 14 points and six assists performance last time out.
- Defensively, the Royals hold opponents to 62.1 points per game, allowing just 39.5 percent shooting from the field and 28.6 percent from beyond the arc.
- Kemia Ward adds a strong defensive presence with 10 blocks in just five games, anchoring the team's interior defense.

- Kenny Brooks, who recently took Virginia Tech to the 2023 NCAA Final Four and won the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season championship, was named the ninth head coach of the University of Kentucky women's basketball program.
- Kentucky defeated its first seven opponents of the season by at least 10 points for the first time since 2013-14.
- The Wildcats allow only 55 points per game while limiting opponents to 31.8 percent shooting from the field and 25.7 percent from three-point range. Their defense is anchored by their excellent shot-blocking, averaging 9.4 blocks per game.
- At point guard, Georgia Amoore orchestrates the offense with precision, contributing 14.4 points per game and leading the team with 8.3 assists per game. Following her coach, Kenny Brooks, to Kentucky, Amoore has continued to excel. She was voted to the All-SEC team by both the media and coaches, receiving first-team honors.
- Clara Strack is the team's go-to player, averaging a double-double with 16.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, while shooting an efficient 47.7 percent from the field.
- Defensively, Teonni Key is a force to be reckoned with, averaging 3.1 blocks per game alongside her 11.6 points and 9.4 rebounds.
