Three Royals Set to Swim at Phillips 66 National Championships

IRVINE, CALIF. – Three Royals swimmers are set to compete at the Phillips 66 National Championships at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, California from July 26-30. Alex Kunert, Finn Howard, and Cece Mayer will represent Queens swimming on the national stage in the long course meters format, which is the same distance as the Olympics.
 
The 2022 CSCAA Swimmer of the Year, Alex Kunert will take part in three events, including the 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle, and 200-meter individual medley. A 2022 national champion in the 100-yard backstroke, Finn Howard will swim in the 100-meter backstroke and 50-meter freestyle this week. On the women's team, All-American Cece Mayer will swim in the 100-meter butterfly.
 
Olympic and World Champ medalists highlight the US Summer Nationals event, including gold medalist Katie Ledecky. Fellow Gator training partners and World Champs, Bobby Finke and Kieran Smith will also race in their strongest events. In total, 12 US World Champion swimmers have entered to compete in Irvine.
