THE SHORT STORY
The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's swimming teams continued their strong performance Friday at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships. Highlighted by three event victories, the Royals' men lead the team standings with 550.5 points through two days of competition, while the women sit fifth overall with 290.5 points heading into the final day of the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Queens opened the evening with a victory in the men's 200 medley relay as Pablo Ortega, Matheus Teixeira Przewalla, Emil Harlem, and Stamatis Paleocrassas combined for a winning time of 1:25.30.
The Royals added another individual win in the men's 200 freestyle where Daniel Meszaros captured the title with a time of 1:34.69.
Queens also secured a victory on the women's side in the 200 medley relay as Abigail Zboran, Libby Livesay, Maddie Foster, and Maren Patterson touched the wall first in 1:38.88.
In the men's 100 butterfly, Emil Harlem placed fourth with a time of 46.92, while Nien Levy followed closely behind in fifth at 47.11.
The Royals added another podium finish in the men's 100 backstroke as Pablo Ortega Navarro tied for third with a time of 46.90.
Queens also recorded a strong showing in the men's 800 freestyle relay as Meszaros, TJ Spokas, Matt Shanahan, and Akos Horvath finished second overall with a time of 6:30.51.
"Another phenomenal evening of swimming," Director of Swimming Jeff Dugdale said. "It is fun to watch our athletes compete on the national stage."
