ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the sixth week of the outdoor track & field season with Queens University of Charlotte's Melanie Welsing earning the track honor.

Welsing, a senior hurdler from Richmond, Ky., took home first place honors in both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles at the LR Bears Open. Her time of 13.80 seconds in the 100H was an NCAA Division II provisional mark, and her time of 1:04.66 in the 400H was a personal best.
