NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's track & field team is ranked seventh in the first installment of the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index
released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday. Only marks from the current season are being used, which gives a comprehensive, objective look at which teams have stood out in the early goings.
The Royals have seven top 20 marks in the nation with
Fatima Alanis ranking first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:04.83.
Melanie Welsing (13.82) and
Lucy Walliker (1.79m) are ranked second in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump, respectively, while
Stevie Lawrence ranks third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:31.72. Walliker also ranks fifth in the heptathlon while
Carlin McFadden is 16th in the 800-meter run and
Stina Pettersson is 19th in the 1500-meter run.
Queens will be back in action next weekend with athletes competing in the Angelo State David Noble Relays, Mar. 31-Apr. 1.
