MONTREAT, N.C./PORTLAND, Ore.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's track team had two members compete over the weekend with hopes of bettering their national marks ahead of the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Fatima Alanis raced in the 5,000-meter run at the Portland Twilight competing in one of the best Division II fields for the event this year. Alanis took third in the race in 16:20.75 improving upon her previous national qualifying mark of 16:31.64 which ranked 17
th prior to tonight's event. Her time tonight places the runner in 11
th place nationally and sits second all-time at Queens.
Additionally,
Esma Pajt competed at the Montreat College Last Chance on Friday evening finishing second in the hammer throw with a national qualifying mark of 53.11-meters (174-3)
