Queens Travels to Face No. 10 Lenoir-Rhyne in SAC Quarterfinals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After being seeded seventh overall in the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championships, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team is scheduled to travel to Hickory, N.C. to take on No. 10 Lenoir-Rhyne University, the tournament's second overall seed.
 
The Royals finished the regular season with a 2-4 record, while Lenoir-Rhyne enters the championship tournament with a 4-0-1 record. The Royals have not had the chance to face the Bears this season. However, in their last matchup, the Royals defeated the Bears, 3-1.
 
Queens' junior Felipe Mendonca leads the SAC with six goals. This season, the Royals totaled 10 goals in their six games while shooting 8.8 times per game and averaged 1.67 goals per game.

Lenoir-Rhyne's Victor Cascon is the team's top offensive threat with four goals and three assists, while teammate Jaime Poza ranks second in the SAC with a team-leading four assists. Lenior-Rhyne goalkeeper Juan Basade has 20 saves this season with a saving percentage of .870 ranking second in the SAC. Basade has only three goals against him.
 
Monday's game will take place at 7:30 p.m. The winner will advance to Thursday's semifinal round.
