CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In the third and final day of the 2021 Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy, the Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's swimming teams won ten events combined and each secured the top spot in the final rankings at Mecklenburg Aquatic Center in Charlotte. The women took the top spot totaling 1,955 points and the men grabbed a first-place finish accruing 2,203 points. A full list of the weekend results can be found

The final day opened with the prelim runs beginning at 9:30 a.m. Queens managed to swim to seven first place finishes in the prelim trials, including a pair of record-breaking swims. In the 100-yard freestyle,
Matej Dusa posted an A cut time and event record 42.71. Teammate
Skyler Cook-Weeks finished immediately behind Dusa at 44:00. The second record came in the 200-yard breastroke as
Balazs Berecz and
Jan Delkeskamp broke the previous record as the two Royals tied for the new time with a B cut time of 1:57.86.
Declan Gleason also added a B cut swim with a time of 2:00.67.
As a team, the Royals would dominate the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly.
Monica Gumina (50.29),
Danielle Melilli (50.70), and
Cece Mayer (50.92) all posted B cut times in the 100-yard freestyle. In the 200-yard butterfly,
Alex Kunert (1:46.35),
Yannick Plasil (1:47.72), and
David Hjort (1:49.58) each finished top three with B cut standards.
Garrison Johnson would put together a remarkable swim in the 1650-yard freestyle (15:55.04),
Andreas Marz (1:46.59) placed first in the 200-yard backstroke, and
Tova Andersson (2:00.33) won the 200-yard backstroke.
After returning from the afternoon break, the Royals shined in the finals again winning ten events and setting five new event records. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, both squads posted B cut times and broke the event record. For the women,
Tova Andersson,
Danielle Melilli,
Monica Gumina, and
Anna De Boer set the new record with a 3:19.09 time. For the men,
Matej Dusa,
Skyler Cook-Weeks,
Balazs Berecz, and
Alex Kunert capped the frenzy off with a record 2:53.21. In the women's 1,650-yard freestyle,
Sophia Lange recorded an A cut time at 16:30.04. The final two event records came as
Matej Dusa hit the A cut in the 100-yard freestyle at 42.69 while
Jan Delkeskamp set a new record (1:56.28) in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Skyler Cook-Weeks also posted an A cut in the 100-yard freestyle and secured his spot at the NCAA Championships.
Balazs Berecz and
Declan Gleason would also post B cut finishes in the 200-yard breastroke behind Delkeskamp.
Queens would manage to post B cut times in the remaining five events, including the men's 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, women's 100-yard freestyle, and men's 200-yard butterfly. In three of the remaining five events, the Royals took the first and second spot in the event.
The Royals will take a short break before heading to Wingate for a dual meet on Friday, Dec. 3 at 5:00 p.m. The men will compete at Wingate on Dec. 3 before the women host the Bulldogs on Dec. 4. Be sure to follow the Royals all season on
