CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After securing a share of its second straight South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championships, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team earned a No. 2 seed in the upcoming SAC Championships. The Royals will host No. 7 seed Newberry College on Saturday, November 9 at 4:30 p.m. at Dickson Field in a quarterfinal matchup.
Queens ended the season on a four-game winning streak and finished the year 10-5 overall with a 7-3 record in conference play. Included in the season-ending streak was a 4-1 road win over the Wolves last Saturday.
Last time out, the Royals collected a 2-1 win over Anderson University to complete a perfect 7-0 season at Dickson Field. Juniors

In the last matchup between the two schools, Alvarez scored twice in the opening 16 minutes of play to put the Royals ahead by a 2-1 score. In the second half, junior

Caleb Patsch each tallied a goal to secure the victory.
Alvarez leads the Royals offensively with eight goals this season, while Burton has chipped in four goals and two assists of his own. Hornsby has handed out a team-high five assists to go along with three goals. Senior goalkeeper
Sebastian Kalk ranks among the League leaders with 61 total saves, a .782 save percentage, and two shutouts.
Newberry finished the regular season 9-7 overall with a 5-5 conference mark. The Wolves are led by Troy Paul and Ibrahim Nadir with seven and six goals, respectively.
Queens is 7-0 against Newberry in the all-time series dating back to the 2013 season. In Charlotte, the Royals are 3-0 and have outscored the Wolves 12-2 in those games.
