CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On the heels of a thrilling penalty kick shootout in which the Royals earned the right to advance past the opening round of play, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team is set to take on second-ranked and top-seeded Lynn University on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Boca Raton, Florida.
 
Queens (11-6-1), the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Co-Champion, is led by all-conference midfielder David Alvarez with nine goals and 19 total points in his first season as a Royal. Fellow all-conference members Michael Hornsby and Keegan Burton provide additional support on the pitch. Hornsby has four goals and a team-high five assists, while Burton has five goals and two assists of his own.
 
The Royals' defense is anchored by all-conference keeper Sebastian Kalk who totaled 69 saves and allowed just 1.14 goals per game with a .767 save percentage to go along with two shutouts. Kalk was the key to the Royals advancement in Thursday night First Round win as he came up with two huge saves in the shootout.
 
Lee (13-1-2) received its NCAA Tournament bid after winning the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Championship, coming back from a 2-0 deficit before sealing the win with a 4-2 advantage in penalty kicks.
 
The Fighting Knights have three players with seven or more goals, led by forward Lukas Osterman with eight goals and four assists. Fellow Levin Sandmann followed with seven goals and five assists, while junior Lukas Hombach chips in seven goals and two assists of his own.

Defensively, Lynn has given up just 16 goals as sophomore keeper Kostantin Fuhry has collected 39 total saves and a .709 save percentage between the pipes.
