CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second straight year and eighth time in program history, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team is headed to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Royals earned an at-large bid as the No. 8 seed in Super Region 2 and will take on No. 9 seed Lee University (Tenn.) on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. in Boca Raton, Florida on the campus of Lynn University.
 
Queens (11-6), the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Co-Champion, is led by all-conference midfielder David Alvarez with nine goals and 19 total points in his first season as a Royal. Fellow all-conference members Michael Hornsby and Keegan Burton provide additional support. Hornsby has four goals and a team-high five assists, while Burton has five goals and two assists of his own.
 
The Royals' defense is anchored by all-conference keeper Sebastian Kalk who totaled 69 saves and allowed just 1.17 goals per game with a .778 save percentage to go along with two shutouts.
 
Lee (12-4-4) received its first-ever NCAA Tournament bid after winning the 2019 Gulf South Conference Championship.
 
The Flames rely heavily on goalkeeper Daniel Hrenko who has surrendered just 16 goals and posted nine shutout this season. Offensively, Jared McWhorter leads the team with seven goals and 17 total points, while Tristan Lyle has chipped in five goals of his own.
