"I am really excited for the opportunity to train and compete again at a high level and represent the US in Barcelona," said Kist. Prior to becoming a coach, Kist was a field hockey player at the University of Pennsylvania from 1999-2002. Following her junior season, Kist was named most improved player after starting in every game, and she went on to earn team captain honors her senior season. She's also a member of the US Field Hockey High-Performance Program and played in the New South Wales Metro League Women's Division in Australia.
Kist closed stating, "I hope to use this as an example, a motivator for others to see the game as more of a lifetime sport and encourage more young women to stay involved in some capacity after college to support the game whether that is as a coach, official, or player."
