PINEVILLE, N.C. - Eleven different players recorded a hit and the pitching staff allowed just one hit as the Queens University of Charlotte baseball team picked up a 23-0 win over Prolific-Postgrad Academy in just eight innings on Thursday night at Jack Hughes Park.
Freshman
Drew Meschede got the start for Queens and allowed just one hit across four innings of work with nine strikeouts in a no-decision.
Fellow freshman
Adam Hartle (4-0) was credited with the win after tossing three no-hit innings with six strikeouts, while sophomore
Bryant Baucom was perfect in one inning of relief, striking out one batter.
The pitching staff received all the run support in would need in the first inning as the Royals erupted for eight runs in the opening frame. Queens led 15-0 through three innings of play and scored at least one run in seven of the eight innings of action en route to the 23-0 decision.
Junior
CJ Hammonds was 2-for-4 in the contest, collecting a double and a home run to go along with a season-high six RBI and three runs scored. Sophomore

Chase Hager and freshman
Anthony Orta tallied three hits each and combined for five total RBI, as Ford registered two doubles and two stolen bases.
Freshmen
Austin Campbell and
Noah Jones each had two hits and one RBI, while fellow freshman
Wes Boling had two RBI of his own. Hartle and junior
Ryan Dudney also had one RBI apiece for the Royals.
Queens has the weekend off before returning to the diamond on Tuesday, March 20 for a 6 p.m. contest in Misenheimer, N.C. against Pfeiffer University.
