Three-Game Homestand Comes to a Close for Women's Basketball

 - The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball concludes its three-game homestand on Saturday, January 20 when it hosts Tusculum College in the Levine Center. 

Opening tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Live coverage of the event will be provided by Queens Athletics and the Queens Sports Network with Phil Constantino.

In their last meeting, the Pioneers picked up a 66-57 victory over Queens on Dec. 2, 2017 in Greeneville, Tenn.

Queens hit 20-of-47 shots in the game and held Tusculum to a 34.8 percent shooting performance, but the Pioneers held a decisive 47-34 advantage in total rebounds and scoring 21 points off of 22 turnovers by the Royals.

Queens Royals (4-12, 1-9 SAC)

-Queens most recently fell to Lenoir-Rhyne University 64-65 inside the Levine Center. In the Royals latest victory, the team defeated Mars Hill 65-62 for its first SAC win of the year.

-In the Royals victory versus Mars Hill, junior transfer Lade Adepoju registered career-highs of 27 points and 16 rebounds while making 9-of-16 shots from the floor and 9-of-11 attempts from the free throw line.

-Queens head coach Sarah Jansen collected her 50th career win with the triumph over the Lions.

- The Royals defense has forced 138 turnovers across the last six games, including 20 or more against Limestone, Mars Hill, Lincoln Memorial and Lenoir-Rhyne.

The Royals are led by Lade Adepoju who averages 17 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest.

- Kristian Eanes also averages double figures with 11 points per game, while Mendy McNeese follows with 9.9 points per contest. 

Tusculum Pioneers (12-4, 7-3 SAC)

- Tusculum has climbed into a tie for third place in the league as winning two straight games. The Pioneers' most recent win was a 74-51 triumph over Anderson University.

-The Pioneers are second in the SAC in points per game with 77.1 points per contest and force more than 24 turnovers per game on defense.

- Three Pioneers average double figures, led by Kasey Johnson with 13.4 as well as 6.8 rebounds per game.

-Sydney Wilson follows with 13.3 points per contest, while Mia Long chips in 12.4 points and shoots 50% from the floor.
