Box Score HICKORY, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team remained undefeated in South Atlantic Conference play after a 20-7 win at Lenoir-Rhyne University this afternoon. The eighth-ranked Royals now sit at 5-0 in league play and 10-2 on the year, while the Bears fall to 9-4 on the season and 5-2 in the SAC.
Queens would begin the game hot on the offensive end before the Bears closed the gap to one, 4-3, with 16:21 on the clock. However, the Royals would hold Lenoir-Rhyne to just one more goal in the half as they took a 12-4 lead at the break. The Royals then outscored the Bears, 8-3 in the second half to secure their victory.
Senior attacker
Abigail Paulus led the Royals with a season-high six goals, while
Alexandra Bruder,
Kelly Dowd and
Ally Blood each recorded hat tricks.
Katie Pawlikowski and
Hanna Scott added two goals apiece, and
Shannon Mansberger tallied one goal.
Goalkeeper
Chase Brokaw totaled two saves to record her sixth win in a row.
Alyssa Sack led the Bears with three goals, while Gabby Sousa added two goals. Ines Flueck took the loss in the cage after recording eight saves.
The Royals will be back in action on Wednesday, April 12 when they host the University of Mount Olive at 4 p.m.
