CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A seventh-seeded Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team and a sixth-seeded Anderson University men's soccer team will suit up to face each other on Friday in the semifinal round of the South Atlantic Conference Championships.

The Royals (8-5-4) advanced to the semifinals for the second time in three seasons after upsetting Carson-Newman University, 3-2, on the road on Tuesday night. A penalty kick scored by
Oemer Okyar in the 91
st minute would help lift the Royals past the Eagles.

Anderson (9-7-1) defeated third-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne by a score of 3-2 as well to advance. Lars Kaula scored the game-winner in the 73
rd minute on a penalty kick to help his team move on to the next round.

During the regular season, Queens defeated the Trojans, 2-0, at home.
Edmundo Robinson scored both goals in the victory. The junior forward currently has 26 points this season on 12 goals and two assists. He leads the Royals in goals and points and ranks second in the SAC in goals and fourth in points.
Keegan Burton is Queens second leading scorer with 12 points on five goals and two assists.

Thomas Joergsholm leads Anderson with 15 points on five goals and five assists this season. Josh Calabria has 12 points on five goals and two assists. Â

The Royals last played in the SAC Championship Semifinals in 2015 defeating Carson-Newman in a penalty kick shootout to advance to the championship game. The Royals last won the SAC Championships in 2013 when they defeated the Trojans, 2-0.
