CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team, ranked 20
th in the nation, will face-off against Wingate University in the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship Semifinals on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Queens Sports Complex.
The Royals, seeded third in the championships, completed the regular season at 6-2 in the SAC. They took on Catawba College in the quarterfinal round defeating the Indians 13-5 to advance. The Bulldogs received a first round bye in tournament play after completing the regular season with a 7-1 league record for the No. 2 seed.
In the first meeting with the Bulldogs Queens fell by a score of 9-8 on the road. After having the hot hand early and building a 6-1 lead by the break, the Royals offense went cold in the second half as Wingate came back from behind to take the win.
Spencer Corkery led the Royals with four goals in the game, while the Bulldogs were led by Alex Llerandi who recorded a hat trick.
The Royals are led by SAC Player of the Year
Garrett Chan who has a total of 74 points this season on 33 goals and 41 assists.
Garrett Sadler has 52 points on 44 goals and eight assists, while Corkery has 41 points on 38 goals and three assists. Goalkeeper
Eric Dolan has recorded 183 saves this season.
Daniel Godwin leads the Bulldogs this season with 42 points after totaling 23 goals and 19 assists. Jeremy Sullivan has 35 points on 29 goals and six assists, and Austin Murphy has 32 points on 15 goals and 17 assists. Goalkeeper Jacob Ormerod has 181 saves on the year.

Cost of admission to the South Atlantic Conference Tournament is $2.00 for students with ID, $8.00 for adults, and $4.00 for youth under 12, Senior (55+), and active or retired military.
