CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team is scheduled to face Catawba College in the quarterfinal round of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Royals enter the tournament seeded third after completing the regular season with a 6-2 league record, while the Indians are seeded sixth with a 3-5 regular season record in the SAC.
The Royals took the regular season meeting with the Indians by a score of 14-11 on the road.
Garrett Sadler led with three goals and one assist, while
Jesse Oliver and
Nick Carlson added two goals apiece. Liam Lynch led the Indians with three goals and an assist as well, while Connor Kennedy and Joe Barber totaled two goals apiece.
Eric Dolan tallied a season high 22 saves on the day in the win.
Kennedy leads the Indians this season with 38 points on 24 goals and 14 assists. Josh Reedy has 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists, while Lynch has 25 points on 19 goals and six assists. Cole Fanzo has 23 points.
Chan has 70 points this season to lead the Royals after totaling 32 goals and 38 assists. He also leads the league in points and assists. Sadler has 48 points on 40 goals and eight assists, while Corkery has 38 points on 36 goals and two assists. Dolan has 164 saves this season. Sadler ranks second in the league in goals and fifth in points, while Corkery is fourth in goals.
The Royals last fell to Catawba during the 2014 season when Queens took a 9-8 double overtime loss on the road.
