Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University women's lacrosse team welcomed Lincoln Memorial University to Dickson Field this afternoon handing the Railsplitters a 23-4 South Atlantic Conference loss. Queens improves to 3-0 in the SAC and 6-2 on the year, while LMU drops to 0-4 in the league and 3-6 on the year.
The Royals dominated the Railsplitters today outshooting them, 38-7, and winning 16 draw controls to their 12. Queens also won the battle for ground balls, 26-11.
Queens'
Brittany Larranaga and
Sarah Bell each recorded hat tricks in the win, while
Abigail Paulus totaled five points with two goals and three assists.
Hanna Scott and
Aarika Kaester each totaled one goal and two assists.
Katie Wardle,
Katie Pawlikowski,
Hannah Kearney, and
Sydney Lear all scored their first goals of their collegiate careers in the game.
The Royals jumped out to a 10-0 lead with 18:05 remaining in the first half to enforce the running clock rule. Queens ended the half with a 16-0 lead, not allowing the Railsplitters to score a goal until the 27:38 mark in the second half.
Bre'Asia James led LMU with two goals. Goalkeeper Shannon Novak totaled 11 saves in the loss.
The Royals will be back in action on Wednesday, March 30 at Wingate University at 4 p.m.
