Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte rolled past Brevard College this evening by a score of 20-4 at Dickson Field to improve to 5-1 on the year and 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Tornados fall to 4-3 on the season and 1-2 in the league.
Queens would get off to a slower start than usual today, but a 7-0 run in the opening half would give the home team a, 8-1 lead with 4:29 to play. They would take a 10-3 lead into the half.
In the second half Queens dominated on the offensive end, outscoring the Tornados 10-1 to take the victory.
Kelly Dowd and
Abigail Paulus led the Royals in points today with six apiece after Dowd recorded four goals and two assists and Paulus tallied three goals and three assists.
Sarah Bell also recorded a hat trick, while
Brittany Larranaga and
Alexandra Bruder totaled two goals apiece.
Christine Wiese completed 51:15 in goal, and totaled one save for the win.
Queens outshot Brevard, 40-7, and totaled 28 ground balls to their 21. Queens also won the battle at the draw, 20-6.
Ashlea Mann led the Tornados with two goals. Shelby Arensault totaled 10 saves in goal.
Queens Is back at home on Friday, March 25 against No. 10 Florida Southern University at 1 p.m.
