Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team overpowered Brevard College today, winning 18-5 at home. The win improves Queens' record to 7-2 on the year and 4-0 in the South Atlantic Conference, while Brevard drops to 0-3 in the league and 1-8 on the season.
 
The Royals took a 9-1 lead into the break after putting eight balls in a row in the back of the net over the first two periods. The Tornados would not score until the 7:41 mark in the second quarter. A goal from Spencer Corkery with 6:38 on the clock would give the game its score at the half. 
 
Brevard found some momentum going on a short three-goal run in the third following a goal from Queens' Corkery to start the period. However, the Royals responded with six straight to improve their lead 12, 16-4, with 4:48 to play in the game. The Tornados would see one more goal on the night before the Royals' Mike Bonerbo and JT Thompson closed things out for the home team.
 
Queens outshot the Tornados, 54-15, and totaled 51 ground balls to Brevard's 23. Eric Dolan took the win in goal after totaling five saves.
 
The Royals were led by Corkery who totaled five goals today. Garrett Chan recorded four goals and one assist, while Nick Carlson had two goals and two assists. Garrett Sadler and Thompson chipped in with two goals and one assists apiece, and Gavin Perry finished with two goals.
 
Five different players scored each of Brevard's goals tonight. Peton Mooney took the loss in goal after recording 10 saves.
 
Queens is back at home on Saturday, March 26 against No. 14 Mercyhurst University at noon.
