Royals held Anderson to just one scoring inning in the first matchup as both teams found their scoring drives in their very first at bats. Molly Child started the game on a high note finding a two-run homerun to send her and Jessica Neidigh around the bases for a 2-0 lead. The Trojans building from the momentum, slowly started to load the bases, giving way for Rachael Barefield to find a hole on the left side to bring both Bri Cason and Chelsea Jones home. As Queens stepped up to bat,
Whitney Britt grabbed first base with a bunt before advance off wild pitch from Jones to put herself in scoring position.
Taylor Rosenbalm moved Britt even closer to home with a single to shortstop. However, it was Rosenbalm's stealing attempt that opened the door for the Royals, allowing Britt to sneak home off the throw.
Anderson concluded the game with seven runners left stranded while Queens left two on base. Jones (12-4) grabbed the win for Anderson going all seven innings with two hits, one run, seven strikeouts and one walk.
Lyndey McCurry (4-8) took the pitching loss for the Royals with seven innings pitched, eight hits, four runs, two strikeouts and four walks.
Unlike the first game, both teams struggled early as both Queens and Anderson put only one runner on base for the first three innings. Anderson again started with a homerun, as Niles hit one over the wall for a solo homerun. The Trojans held their one run advantage into the sixth inning before adding four more to their side. Neidigh found home plate off a one base hit through the left side by Cason. However, a double out into left centerfield by Rebecca Martin cleared the bases to bring in three Trojans.
Abby Lathan homered to put Queens on the board in their next at bat, but Anderson topped the game off with two more runs in the seventh. Niles hit her second homerun of the game to take Carli Hurtado home with her make it a 7-1 final.
