Box Score HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (7-4) defeated Lincoln Memorial University (0-7) this afternoon by a score of 20-1 to improve to 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Railsplitters now sit at 0-6 in league play.
Megan Wagner led all on the field today scoring career-high six goals on six shots.
Abigail Paulus recorded seven points on one goal and six assists, while
Brittany Larranaga followed with five points after totaling three goals and two assists.
Kelly Dowd also scored three goals, and
Jena Ready,
Maggie Masters and
Hannah Kearney tallied two goals apiece.
Bridgette Larranaga, Arika Kaester, Ready and Masters each totaled four ground balls to lead the Royals.
Bridgette Larranaga also led in caused turnovers with four, while
Brittany Larranaga and Ready led in draw controls with three apiece.
Dowd got the Royals on the scoreboard early with a goal just 29 seconds into play, and 14 unanswered goals would follow for Queens in the opening half. Meanwhile, the Royals were able to hold the Railsplitters scoreless in the period taking a 15-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, Autumn Beddington scored LMU's lone goal at 26:16. Masters quickly followed the Railsplitters' goal with two of her own, and the Royals went on to add three more to the board before the game was ended with 10:19 on the clock due to poor field conditions.
Queens outshot LMU 40-6. The Royals also won the ground ball battle 34-22, and totaled 15 draw controls to LMU's seven.
LMU goalkeeper Shannon Novak completed today's game with 11 saves.
The Royals are on the road at Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
