Box Score Anderson, S.C. – Queens University of Charlotte (5-22, 3-19 SAC) finished their season on the road Saturday, February 28, 2015, taking on conference leader and No. 3 regionally ranked, Anderson University (23-3, 20-2). The Trojans seized the game 74-54 due to major runs in the second half.
Lacey Singletary went out in style, taking 17 points for the game to lead the floor. Today's game found her two additional blocks to cap her season at 85. With the conclusion of the season, she took a new school record for blocks per game with an impressive 3.1 average. She also closed the year ranking fifth in school history for defensive rebounds, scooping up 139 on the defensive side and totaling 172 all-around. Pairing with Singletary,
McKell Oliverio presented a threat for Anderson taking 12 points and swiping seven rebounds for the team.
Abby Pettit was the third Royals player to reach double-digits concluding her senior year with 10 points, six rebounds, and a steal during the game.
Anderson sought out Lesley Woods and Jasmine Franklin for their offensive drive. Woods found 15 points in the game but Franklin took the only double-double in the day's matchup. Franklin's 12 points would be complimented by 10 rebounds. Anderson would have one more threat to their lineup as Sierra Simpson reached into double-digits with 10 points however it would be her seven assists and seven steals that caused problems for the Royals. The Trojans helped to secure their win making 12 of 13 free-throws throughout the game.
Although it was a slow run for the Trojans, Anderson took control early snatching a 12-4 lead at 14:33. Even though the Royals managed to keep the score within 10 points, Oliverio and Singletary took sole custody of the Royals' baskets in the first 12 minutes of play.
Karleasha Thompson would break through the barrier with a three-point play, only to see the response of a 7-0 Trojan run put the team behind by 18. Refusing to cave, Queens capitalized on their own momentum knocking down 12 answered points to ensure the half would break with the team less than ten away.
The start of the second gave favor to Queens as the found five quick points from the senior duo Singletary and Pettit to bring the team only four points off the tie. However, the Royals would not find their equaling point as the Trojans pushed out with a 9-1 run. With Queens looking for baskets, the Trojans worked their way to a 21 point game with 8:01 still remaining on the clock. As the minutes ticked off the clock, Queens did find the net but Anderson was there to answer and keep the game out of reach.
Sheridan Pressley and Thompson both found points in the last two minutes of play as the game fell to Anderson.
