CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team will face No. 14 Carson-Newman College tomorrow in the South Atlantic Conference Championships in Rock Hill, N.C. The Eagles, ranked second in the region, come into the game seeded first with a 15-2-1record, while Queens is seeded fourth with a record of 10-7.
 
The Royals defeated Anderson University by a score of 2-1 in the quarterfinal round to advance to tomorrow's semifinals. After falling behind, 1-0, in the game, junior midfielder Caio Maciel tied the things up in the 22^nd minute before junior forward Ryan Ejezie scored the game-winner in the 67^th. Junior forward Corey Brown assisted on both goals for Queens. Brown currently leads the Royals this season with 28 points on nine goals and 10 assists. Marc-Kevin Schwenk follows with 15 points on five goals and five assists.
 
Goalkeeper Matt Current has a record of 6-1 on the year after totaling three shutouts.
 
The Eagles advanced to the semifinal round after defeating Brevard College by a score of 4-0. Gabbiadini scored twice in the win, while Marius Staalby and Tom Read notched the other two goals. Read leads the Eagles attack with 29 points this season on eight goals and 13 assists. Sindre Welo has 17 points on eight goals and one assists, while Staalby has 16 points on seven goals and two assists.   
 
Carson-Newman's goalkeeper, Kavi Luchowa, has six shutouts and a record of 14-2-1 on the year.
 
The Eagles have taken all three matches over the Royals since Queens joined the SAC. This season, Queens fell 2-1 with Schwenk scoring a goal in the 64^th minute. Lucas Sigueira and Jules Gabbiadini scored the pair of goals for Carson-Newman.
