Box Score ANDERSON, S.C. – The Royals traveled to take on Anderson University today, defeating the Trojans 2-1 in double overtime to improve their record to 2-5 on the year and 2-1 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Trojans fall to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in the league after being handed their first conference loss of the season.
With the game knotted a 1-1, sophomore
Ryan Ejezie was able to rattle a ball into the net with nine seconds left in regulation. Ejezie took the shot, beating Anderson's goalkeeper to the right, after receiving a through ball from
Ryan King.
King can be credited for sending the game into overtime after scoring the game-tying goal in the 28
th minute of action off of a corner kick from
Marc-Kevin Schwenk.
The Trojans scored their goal in the 18
th minute when Queens goalkeeper
Montrell Morgan wasn't able to wrap his hands around a cross from Anderson's Andres Lozano. Andre Carle was there to tap the ball in the goal for the easy score.
Morgan completed the game with five saves, while Anderson's Bo Haug totaled two saves.
Queens is back in action on the road at Coker College on Saturday at 7 p.m.
