Anderson scores in loss at Tusculum

Box Score GREENVILLE, Tenn. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team remains in search of their first win of the 2014 season after falling 2-1 this evening to Tusculum College in South Atlantic Conference competition. The Royals now sit at 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the SAC, while the Pioneers improve to 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the league.
 
Following a scoreless first half, the Pioneers went ahead in the 71st minute when Guillermo Lazcano scored a header off of a corner kick from Tyler Linkous.
 
The Royals would match Tusculum's goal in the 80th scoring the exact same way as Kevin Anderson found the back of the net on a header. Marc-Kevin Schwenk was awarded the assist on the play after taking the corner kick.
 
Tusculum's game-winner would come soon after in the 87th on yet another header; this time from Jonathan Spicher. Linkous of the Pioneers recorded his second assist of the day on the play serving the ball into the box for Spicher to find.
 
Montrell Morgan recorded 90 minutes in the net, recording seven saves, while Ashley Elsey totaled one save.
 
Tusculum won 17 corner kicks tonight compared to Queens' one. The Pioneers also outshot the Royals, 19-7.
 
The Royals are on the road Monday at USC-Aiken at 7 p.m.
