Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C. – Appearing in the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history the men's lacrosse team faced off against one of its oldest rivals, the Limestone Saints. Taking on one of the top offenses in the nation Queens was outshot 54 to 27 and eventually dropped the game by the score of 17-6.
In the first quarter it was a back-and-forth game with each team exchanging acrobatic goals. Turning in highlight reel goals for the Royals were
Justin Kestler,
Garrett Chan, and Kenny Stryker to tie the score at 3-3. But, the second quarter turned out to be just the opposite of the first as the Royals offense was stymied and the vistors gave up five goals to the Saints.
The Royals were able to return to form in the third as they exchange goals with
Casey Hock and
Evan Farkas picking up key goals to end the quarter with the score 12-6. The Royals were never able to close the gap, and were only able to pick up another score in the fourth.
Farkas led the Royals with two goals with Stryker picking up six groundballs.
Eric Dolan turned in a strong performance in the cage and finished with 18 saves.
The Royals finish their season 12-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
